Detention Officers Texas (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio & El Paso)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for California Licensed Armed Detention Officers for Starside’s USMS, ICE, HSI and DHS Contracts throughout Texas. Our Detention Officers (DO’S) work at various USMS, HSI and ICE facilities throughout Texas. Starside’s Detention Officers transport inmates from various facilities protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee and preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm, by providing constant visual observation.

Ideal Candidate:

• Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV (No Convictions (At all or pattern of arrests)
• Pass a Pre-employment Physical
• Texas Level 3 or 4 Guard Card
• Familiarity with Glock Firearms, (40 Caliber or 9mm primary service weapon)
• Previous Government Service a plus
• Willing to work as needed, weekends, holidays and graveyard.
• Minimum 3 years handling Prisoners / Detainees
• Special Operations / Military a plus (verified by DD214)
• All Starside employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Clearance

Compensation is $30.00 per hour; Detention Officers must be approved by USMS and pass their background. Starside offers 80 Hours of vacation and 56 hours of sick time after 1 year of continual employment, paid as a percentage of fulltime.

Court Security Officers (Austin, TX)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Court Services Division (CSD) is looking for Court Security Officers, (CSO’s) for multiple Courthouses in Austin Texas.  Starside is responsible for the security and protection of court staff and visitors to courthouses in Austin, TX.  Court Security Officers Applicants must have a clean background (as Verified by Austin Police Department) and all CSO must pass CJIS and Court Security training in addition to training on X-Ray Machines, CCTV and Metal Detectors.

Starside’s CSO’s must be professional and courteous at all time and have excellent uniform appearance.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation
  • Texas Non Commissioned Security License (Level II)
  • Texas Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
  • Previous Law Enforcement, Court Security experience, a strong plus
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Willing to work 8 to 10 hours per day Monday thru Friday and attend training on weekends
  • Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)

Compensation is $22.50 per hour plus $4.22 into a Health & Welfare account. 1 week vacation and sick time after 1 year of continual service, (as a percentage of full-time). CSO’s should be able to communicate effectively to all levels of officers, management and administrators at local, city, county and federal courthouses.  As with all Court Service Division employees CSO’s must be approved by The Austin Police Department, and the courthouse they are going to be assigned and pass their background

Detention Officers Western Texas (As Needed)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for Detention Officers for Government Contracts in Western Texas.  Western Texas covers 92,000 sq miles from Waco to El Paso.  Starside covers Detainees (Inmates / Prisoners) in Hospitals in cities to include Waco, Austin, San Antonio, Midland and El Paso. Detention Officers must have a clean background and all DO’s providing transport for Detainees must have a clean driving record.

Starside’s Detention Officers prevent escape and protect the detainee and the general public while detainees are in Starside’s custody.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation
  • Texas Commissioned Security License (Level III or Level IV)
  • Texas Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
  • Previous Law Enforcement, Corrections or Detention experience, (3 years min)
  • Accredited by ACA or similar authority a plus
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Willing to work long hours and on weekends
  • Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)
  • All Starside employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Clearance

Compensation is $30.00 per hour.  Detention Officers should be able to communicate effectively to all levels of officers, management and administrators at local, county and federal facilities.  As with all Detention Service Division employees Detention Officers must be approved by The USMS, HSI, ICE or FBI and pass their background

Positions in California

Detention Security Officers, Southern California (Armed / Unarmed)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for California Licensed Armed & Unarmed Security Officers for Starside’s ATF, DEA, ICE, HSI and DHS Contracts in San Diego & Imperial Counties. Our Detention Security Officers (DSO’S) work at various ATF, DEA, and HSI accounts gaining experience to become a Detention Officer at Starside. Starside’s Detention Security Officers transport inmates from various facilities protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm, by providing constant visual observation.

Ideal Candidate:

• Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV (No Convictions (At all or pattern of arrests)
• Pass a Pre-employment Physical
• California Guard Card
• California Exposed Firearms Permit, (40 Caliber or 9mm primary service weapon), If Armed
• Previous Government Service a plus
• Willing to work as needed most positions are over 40 hours per week
• Minimum graduation from a Police Academy or Detention Academy
• Special Operations / Military a plus (verified by DD214)

Compensation is $25.65 per hour. Detention Security Officers must be approved by the government and pass their background. Starside offers 80 Hours vacation and 56 hours of sick time after 1 year of employment.

Project Manager Detention Services, San Diego, CA

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for a Project Manager for our Detention Services in San Diego.  Starside is responsible for Transporting and providing Hospital watch for Federal Detainees in San Diego and Surrounding Areas.  Project Manager Applicants must have a clean background (as verified by USMS) and all Project Managers must have a minimum of 5 years Detention experience and 2 years of supervisory or management of detention officers experience.

Starside’s Project Managers and First Line Supervisors are responsible to ensure that all Detention Officers DO’s are professional and courteous at all time and have excellent uniform appearance.  Project Manager also tracks training and make sure paperwork is complete and accurate.  The Project Manager prepares and submits Timesheet, Schedule and staffing plans to Starside’s Corporate Office.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5 to 10 years of Detention / Security Guard Management supervising a minimum of 10 detention or security officers.
  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation
  • California Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
  • POST Certification (Advanced / Executive) a plus
  • Previous Law Enforcement, Detention or Court Security experience, a strong plus
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and to respond to emergency transports and/or situations after hours
  • Willing to work Monday thru Friday and provide training on weekends

Compensation is dependent on experience.  Project Managers must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of staff at a prison, jail or hospital and courthouse from judges, police officers, Detention Officers, (DO’s), all levels of management and administrators at community, local, city, county and federal courthouses.  As with all Detention Service Division Employees the Project Manager must be approved by The United States Marshal’s Service and pass their stringent background

Detention Officer Supervisor, San Diego, CA

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Our Detention Officers Supervisors work at various USMS, HSI, ICE and GEO facilities and Hospitals in San Diego and Imperial County. Starside’s Detention Officers Supervisors schedule and perform unannounced post visits, supervise attorney visits and the transport of detainees and inmates from various facilities making sure Starside’s Detention Officers are protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm.

  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical
  • California Guard Card
  • California Exposed Firearms Permit (9mm, .40 Caliber)
  • Previous Government Service a plus

Transportation Officer (San Diego)

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for Transportation Officers for Starside’s Detention Accounts in San Diego.  Starside transports detainees for various governmental agencies throughout San Diego and Imperial counties.   Transportation Officers are responsible for the transportation and hospital watch of federal detainees.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical
  • California Guard Card
  • California Exposed Firearms Permit, (40 Caliber)
  • 3 years of Law Enforcement, Corrections or Detention (within the previous 5 years)

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and reports directly to Starside’s Director of Detention Services and COO.

Compensation is $32.06 per hour plus $4.22 into a retirement account. Starside offers 80 Hours vacation and 56 hours of sick time after 1 year of employment, (as a percentage of full-time). Transportation Officers must pass a government background (no convictions, bad credit) and be approved by the agency.

Jailer, Southern CA

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for California Licensed Security Guards to work as Jailers at multiple local Jails.  Jailers are assigned to a Local Jails in Los Angeles County.  Starside also has position in Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.  Starside’s Jailers work at various Local, City Jails. Starside’s Jailers help local police departments by booking, securing and transporting inmates.  Jailer are protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee by preventing escape. Starside also protects the public and the inmate from harm.

Ideal Candidate

  • Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV
  • Pass a Pre-employment Physical
  • California Guard Card

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for an Administrative Assistant to handle Payroll, Hiring Paperwork, Processing of Clearances for the Divisions Jails, Transportation Officers and Detention Officers throughout Southern California.  This position is based at Starside’s Corporate Offices in Diamond Bar (Eastern Los Angeles County)
